ABOUT PUNGO FAMILY MEDICINE

Dr. Beamer graduated from East Carolina University School of Medicine in 1991. After graduation, Dr. Beamer completed his residency in Family Medicine in Casper, Wyoming. Upon completion of his residency in 1994, Dr. Beamer moved to Belhaven, NC and began his career in Family Medicine. In 2000, Dr. Beamer moved to Montana for two years. In 2002, Dr. Beamer felt a need to return to the Belhaven area where he could once again practice rural medicine. He opened Pungo Family Medicine in November 2002. Pungo Family Medicine has expanded over the years and now resides in its current building on Allen Street. In 2008, the practice doubled in size with the addition of new exam rooms, a procedure room, sick and well waiting areas, and expanded front office and nurse’s station.  Dr. Beamer has a genuine concern for providing quality healthcare services to individuals and families of Beaufort, Hyde, Washington and surrounding counties.

Pungo Family Medicine is staffed with 6 full-time employees.  The office is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm, unless otherwise posted. Appointments can be made by calling 252-944-2218. Walk-ins are accepted for sick and emergent visits. Most major insurance plans are accepted.  No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay.  There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available.  Please notify the front office receptionist if you are in need of this service.
